Diesel Mechanic 

On behalf of our client in Wexford, we are recruiting for a Diesel Mechanic to carry out maintenance and repairs on heavy plant Machinery. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a very well established and respected local business. The role requires someone who has good knowledge of working on heavy plant machinery, You will be repairing and maintaining diesel powered vehicles and machines, like trucks, forklifts, dumpers, diggers, excavators etc, this role will suit someone with good common sense, can use their initiative and has a can-do attitude.  Its a permanent position and offers a very good salary with overtime and added benefits for the right person. Responsibilities:
  • Consulting with customers and reading work orders to evaluate the tasks required
  • Preparing work plans after fully scoping out the issues
  • Running diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions
  • Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering and exhausts
  • Repairing or replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines and other associated parts
  • Conducting field visits with a supervisor in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdown
  • Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance
  • Completing oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment and brake checks
  • Maintaining records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles
Requirements: 
  • High standard of integrity and professionalism
  • Familiarity and ability to use with confidence common welding tools and procedures, including MIG welding, TIG welding, metal fabricating, grinding,hose crimpers, pressure gauges etc.
  • Regular and on-time attendance
  • Good communication and interaction skills
  • Knowledge of shop tools and equipment
  • Ability and desire to work as part of a team
  • Have a can-do attitude and be willing to support the team in completing tasks 
  • Drug and alcohol free at all times

WELDER/ FABRICATOR 

On behalf of our client in the Wexford area we are now recruiting for a Welder/Fabricator for a full time position. Responsibilities:
  • Conduct tests to check weld quality.​
  • Lifting, moving, and holding or clamping work pieces to table, into jigs, or into position as directed manually or by using pry bar;
  • Report and detail product malfunctions;
  • Plan layout, assembly and welding of products;
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.

Requirements: 
  • High standard of integrity and professionalism
  • Basic understanding of electricity
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret blueprints and engineering plans
  • Familiarity with common welding tools and procedures, including MIG welding, TIG welding, metal fabricating, grinding, and finishing metals
  • Regular and on-time attendance
  • Good communication and interaction skills
  • Knowledge of shop tools and equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
  • Ability to weld thin gauge material (16ga to 10ga)
  • Ability and desire to work as part of a team
  • Mechanical aptitude
